We have never had rain like this before! Putting across greens that looked like lakes. Half the field came in after 9 holes and waited for the rest of us to finish. Anyway, those who carried on were made of tough stuff as you can see: A fine day at Dummer Golf Club on March 12th attracted a field of 20 players and the results were as follows: A chilly start to our Rodeo year at Dummer Golf Club in March attracted a field of 21 players and the results were as follows: Played at Pine Ridge Golf Club, this competition produced some very good scores by the 20 competitors. Another sweltering day in 30 degrees for our 2014 gathering. With 31 players, we had a fantastic day’s golf on July 13th followed by a great meal. The highlight was having a large screen in our dining room to watch the Football World Cup final. As the major Competition is the Clemens Cup, John Ledgard was awarded the trophy when he really fancied the Wes Fitzgerald Cup! He could have won either with his score. He can try for the other next year off his reduced handicap!! The results were as follows: Our visit to Ealing Golf Club for the AUTUMN PLATE was another successful day out on this quality course. The results from our 20 players were as follows: Our sincere thanks again to Peter Noblet for his hospitality and generosity After floods in 2012, we were sweltering in 30 degrees for the 2013 gathering. Again, our main event was well supported and a good day was had by all. For those of you who remember the beef being tougher than the golf, you will be pleased to know that we have been offered an apology and we have arranged something better for 2012. We will have a PRIVATE dining room and our own menu with waitress service on July 8th 2012. We all thanked Mike for organising us over the past years and as an expression of our gratitude presented him with a “Ryder Cup Experience” at Celtic Manor, a wonderful album of memorabilia and some lovely bubbly to celebrate his tenure. Chris Grundy with a gross 76 Tom Kinsella For the second year, Peter Noblet has laid on a great golf day at Ealing Golf Club. This is a prestigious course with the best greens around. I hope next October to include this in our official calendar and see an even greater turn out. This year’s field was 23 players all of whom found the wind had a greater effect than they had hoped for!. Our thanks to Peter for allowing us to play at Ealing and for supporting the event financially.
